Hybrid power plants

Since the october of 2011, Enertrag is running the world’s first hydrogen-wind-biogas hybrid power plant in Prenzlau (Uckermark, Germany). The term hybrid power plant is not only used in regard to purely standalone networks (that are not tied to the regional electricity grid) but also for locally adjacent combinations of several energy generation systems. As is the case in Prenzlau, parts of such hybrid plants can be designed as energy storage systems.
